Heavy Machinery Packaging in Panipat

Panipat is not an auto SEZ. It is India's densest home-textile and carpet export city, with roughly 200 textile-machinery units in the local cluster and a separate foundry belt at Samalkha. When a loom, finishing line or casting machine leaves for Africa, the Middle East or Europe, the pack has to survive Haryana dust, monsoon humidity and the truck run to Mundra or JNPT. That is the job BENZ does on site.

What makes Panipat different

Home textiles at export scale, a local textile-machinery industry, and Samalkha castings next door.

Panipat is globally known for blankets, carpets, shoddy yarn and home furnishings. Export volumes are large and continuous. Behind those mills sits a real capital-goods layer: the Panipat textile machinery cluster has on the order of 200 machinery units building and servicing looms, finishing equipment and related process machines. Separately, Samalkha (about 20 km from Panipat) runs a foundry cluster of roughly 70 units producing castings and related metal goods. Packing a textile finishing machine for export is a different geometry and soil problem from packing a foundry flask line or a general engineering press.

Most mills and machinery shops sit in HUDA industrial sectors (notably Sector 25 and Sector 29 phases) and town industrial pockets. Logistics are NCR-adjacent but not coastal: cargo trucks toward Mundra or JNPT after local stuffing. Summer dust is aggressive. Monsoon humidity still drives condensation in sealed containers. Winter temperature swings matter. This is not BHEL power-equipment packing and not a SIPCOT commercial-vehicle stamping story. It is textile capital equipment and foundry metal leaving a north Indian export city.

Where the machines sit

Textile mills, machinery shops and foundries

HUDA Sector 25 industrial areas

Major concentration of home-textile and related manufacturing. Process and finishing machines move from these plots toward export packing bays.

HUDA Sector 29 industrial areas

Parallel industrial sectors for textile and allied units, separate road access and yard patterns from Sector 25.

Panipat textile machinery shops

Local builders and rebuilders of looms, finishing and process equipment. Export crates here often protect machines bound for overseas textile plants.

Samalkha foundry cluster

About 20 km out: castings and foundry equipment. Irregular mass, foundry soils, different skid rules from a clean textile finishing line.

Getting a machine out of Panipat

Dust first, then a long truck to the west coast

Panipat does not load at a sea berth. Export machines leave by road. West-coast ports (Mundra, JNPT) dominate ocean bookings from this belt. A sealed ocean voyage of 4 to 8 weeks is common; with mill storage and CFS, total sealed time often reaches 12 to 20 weeks. Dust abrasion and humidity are the primary surface risks. Road vibration on the Haryana-to-port run damages poorly braced looms and finishing frames.

We start with clean dry metal. Multimetal VCI (our film family tracks MIL-PRF-22019E performance classes) protects steel and multi-metal assemblies without greasy residues that stain textile plant floors. For long wet-season sailings we add aluminium barrier bagging and desiccants sized to free air volume (DIN 55474 / MIL-D-3464E practice). Solid-wood crates are ISPM-15 heat-treated. Real questions from this cluster

Panipat FAQ (not a copy of another city)

Why does a textile city need heavy machinery packaging?

Because Panipat both runs and builds machines. Mills import and export process equipment, and the local textile-machinery cluster ships complete machines and major assemblies overseas. Those units need ISPM-15 crates and corrosion control, not only carton packaging for finished home textiles.

Do you pack machines built by Panipat textile machinery units?

Yes. On-site packing for looms, finishing lines and related capital equipment is a core use case here. We size skids and VCI to the machine geometry and the sealed weeks to destination.

Do you cover the Samalkha foundry belt?

Yes. Samalkha is about 20 km from Panipat and has its own foundry cluster. Foundry soils and irregular castings change the pack: more attention to cleaning, bracing and skid design than a clean textile finishing line.

Which industrial areas in Panipat do you work in?

HUDA Sector 25 and Sector 29 industrial areas, town industrial pockets, textile machinery shops across the cluster, and Samalkha foundry units on the same export logistics chain.

How does dust affect packing in Panipat?

Dry-season dust loads seals and surfaces. We wipe to a clean dry state before VCI, then seal the pack so dust cannot keep abrading metal in transit. Open wraps fail here for the same reason open wraps fail in other dusty inland cities, but the machine mix is textile and foundry, not passenger-car OEMs.

Which ports do Panipat export machines use?

Most ocean bookings still go via Mundra or JNPT after road haul from the mill or machinery shop. There is no sea berth in Panipat. Pack design assumes multi-week inland plus ocean sealed time.

Do you use ISPM-15 wood?

Yes. Solid-wood crates and skids are heat-treated and ISPM-15 stamped with documents for customs clearance.

How do you quote a Panipat job?

By machine: weight, footprint, whether it is a textile line or foundry equipment, sealed weeks, crate or skid, and destination. Survey on site, then commercial quote. Capability still covers 120 tonne-class units and, when required, 250 MW and 450 MW class power equipment on the same network standards.

Exporting a loom, finishing line or foundry machine from Panipat?

Book a survey at your Sector 25/29 mill, textile machinery shop or Samalkha foundry. We build the skid, VCI system and ISPM-15 crate for the actual machine and the Mundra or JNPT route.
