About 30 km away, SAIL's Bhilai Steel Plant still sets the region's heavy-metal character. When a rolling-mill stand, furnace section or process skid leaves for Visakhapatnam or Haldia, the pack has to survive long monsoon-season inland hauls. Export is almost always a long inland run. Cargo typically heads toward Visakhapatnam Port or the Kolkata-Haldia system, not a local berth. Central Indian heat is severe in summer. Monsoon humidity is high. Sealed programmes commonly need 12 to 20 weeks of humidity control once yard and ocean time are added. A weak skid fails on highway vibration long before salt air becomes the issue.

Raipur has no deep-water commercial port. Export equipment usually trucks or multi-modals toward Visakhapatnam or toward Kolkata and Haldia. That can mean several days on the road before CFS. Ocean legs of 4 to 8 weeks are common; total sealed windows of 12 to 20 weeks are normal when storage is included. Humidity and vibration, not salt spray at the plant gate, are the first design constraints.
We clean and dry metal, apply multimetal VCI, and for long programmes seal aluminium barrier bags with desiccant sized to free air volume. Skids are cut for real centre of gravity, often in the multi-ten and 100-tonne-plus range for mill and process equipment.
