Why export packing fails on Detroit machines

What an experienced packer captures in a SE Michigan hall

Stand at the machine. Record mass and centre of gravity, residual oils, ram or spindle condition, die and fixture inventory, robot axis zero needs, conveyor section count, hall crane and dock limits, expected warehouse days, export vs domestic, final import country for international shipping packaging, and whether vacuum barrier packaging is required for a multi-month sealed window (often 24 to 36 months when storage-plus-ocean freight is long).

Closing export packing in the hall is preferred. Rolling a bare press or CNC across a winter salt-and-moisture yard starts corrosion and geometry loss before the crate exists.
