A Bengaluru shipment is often high in value and low in tolerance: PCB assemblies, sensors, aerospace modules, optical parts, diagnostic equipment, medical devices, biotech instruments and precision machined components. The wrong desiccant can be as risky as no desiccant if it sheds dust, contains incompatible chemistry, saturates too early, or cannot maintain the required humidity inside a moisture barrier bag.

Molecular sieve is used where the target humidity is very low. Silica gel handles many standard instrument and device packs. Calcium chloride container desiccants are then added when the outer container, crate or cartonized export route creates a separate bulk-moisture problem.
