Chennai Is a Coastal Manufacturing City, So Moisture Control Starts Before the Ship Sails
Chennai cargo is often exposed to warm marine air before loading. That matters because the moisture already inside a container or moisture barrier bag is the moisture that later condenses during night cooling, inland-to-sea temperature changes and long tropical routes. Automotive components, EV electronics, batteries, sensors, medical devices and machine spares do not tolerate the same humidity threshold as textiles or leather, so the desiccant choice must be engineered by cargo type.
BENZ uses calcium chloride desiccants where the container itself is the moisture reservoir, C DRY activated clay where the protected object is inside a sealed barrier pack, and silica gel or molecular sieve where a small product pack needs controlled headspace humidity. For Chennai exporters, that distinction is usually the difference between a dry shipment and a rejected one.
