Industrial sustainability pathways for right-sized corrugated, wooden export packaging, returnable systems, VCI, desiccants and EPR-aware material choices.
Packaging choices focused on right-sizing, material reduction, route-aware protection and lower avoidable waste while preserving product performance.
Waste Smart signifies that the initial stride toward a circular economy that entails the elimination of waste through innovative design, enabling materials to enjoy multiple lifecycles.
Paper-based packaging routes including corrugated, honeycomb, paper cushioning and responsible sourcing discussions where product-specific evidence supports the claim.
A grinder is a precision instrument the size of a machine. Its ground slideways and high-speed spindle flash-rust in humid air and go out of alignment under transit shock, and once that happens the machine is scrap. BENZ packs grinders on site, locking the precision and sealing out the moisture, so they arrive ready to run.
Two failures scrap a grinder in transit: rust and misalignment.
Grinding machines are built to hold single-micron accuracy, and everything that makes them precise also makes them fragile in a shipping container. The hardened, ground slideways and the spindle are bare, lapped steel that blooms red rust within days once humidity around them climbs, and a sealed container on an ocean voyage does exactly that as it heats and cools. At the same time, the wheelhead, table and tailstock are heavy masses on precision ways; if they are not locked and braced, road and sea shock drive them against their stops and knock the machine out of geometry.
Ordinary crating addresses neither. BENZ packs a grinder as a precision asset, immobilising every axis, preserving every ground surface, and sealing the machine against moisture for the whole route.
The wheelhead, table, cross-slide and tailstock are clamped and braced to travel limits so no axis can move under shock, and the spindle and wheel are secured. Coolant and hydraulics are drained or secured as required.
Slideways, spindle, chuck and bare machined faces are degreased and coated with rust preventive, then given VCI vapour-phase protection to MIL-PRF-3420H so no metal is left exposed to humidity.
For sea freight or long storage the machine is sealed in an aluminium barrier-foil envelope with MIL-D-3464E desiccant, a moisture-proof cocoon that holds humidity below the corrosion threshold for the full voyage.
An engineered skid built to the machine's weight and centre of gravity, calculated cushioning under precision assemblies, and a heat-treated ISPM-15 crate designed for crane and forklift handling and container stacking.
Table and column locking, chuck and way preservation.
Wheelhead, tailstock and workhead immobilised, ways preserved.
Regulating and grinding wheel units secured against shift.
Spindle and quill protection for bore-grinding machines.
Precision heads and fixtures braced and preserved.
Heavy, high-precision units skidded and sealed to weight.
Grinders are one of 35+ machine types we pack, from CNC machining centres and presses to transformers, turbines and complete production lines.
We lock every axis and the spindle so the machine cannot shift, preserve the ground slideways and spindle with rust preventive and VCI, seal the machine in an aluminium barrier bag with desiccant for the voyage, then mount it on an engineered skid inside a heat-treated ISPM-15 crate. The whole job is done on site so the grinder never travels unprotected.
Bare ground surfaces are degreased, coated with rust preventive and given VCI vapour-phase protection to MIL-PRF-3420H, and for long or humid transits the machine is sealed in an aluminium barrier-foil bag with MIL-D-3464E desiccant that holds internal humidity below the level at which rust can form, so slideways and spindle arrive bright.
Yes, all grinder types: surface, cylindrical, centreless, internal, tool and cutter, and gear and thread grinders. Each is locked and braced to its own geometry, because the moving masses and precision axes differ from one type to the next.
Yes. On-site packing is our standard method. A BENZ team comes to your plant with all materials, tooling and lifting equipment and packs the grinder on your shop floor, which removes the damage risk of moving an unprotected precision machine to an external packer.
Yes. All solid-wood crating and skidding is heat-treated and carries the ISPM-15 stamp recognised by customs worldwide, with the treatment certificate supplied so the consignment clears without quarantine or fumigation.
There is effectively no upper limit. We pack from compact tool grinders to large gear and roll grinders well into the tens of tonnes, engineering the skid, crate and lifting points to the machine's weight and centre of gravity.
Send the machine details or book an on-site survey. We specify and pack the complete precision-safe export solution.
