Why Mumbai Equipment Needs Port-Grade Packaging Before It Reaches the Port
Industrial equipment packaging in Mumbai has to solve corrosion, vibration and port dwell at the same time. A reactor from Taloja, a compressor from the TTC belt, a marine engine sub-assembly from the port-side repair ecosystem or a generator package moving toward Nhava Sheva can be exposed to humid coastal air before container loading even starts. IMD Mumbai observations during monsoon show very high relative humidity at Colaba and Santacruz, which is enough to drive condensation inside ordinary plastic covers and unsealed crates.
The mistake is treating Mumbai as only a loading point. For machinery, it is a storage, staging and salt-air exposure point. BENZ therefore builds the pack at the factory or service yard: VCI on bare metal, desiccant and barrier film where humidity control matters, and ISPM-15 timber designed for JNPT and container handling. That gives the equipment a sealed microclimate before it enters the port-side queue.
